Century Ride

It baffles me that many people ride 100 miles in one day. That's a lot of miles! This month, as part of #30daysofbiking, I've been keeping track of my mileage. By April 22, Earth Day, I had hit 100 miles for the month of April. I could have and would have ridden a lot more if the weather had cooperated, but 100 miles ain't bad for just over three weeks.

Speaking of the weather, I think I can safely say that snowstorms are behind us now. The next week's forecast is sunny and in the 60s and 70s. By next Monday, the temps are supposed to be in the high 70s. Nothing like moving directly from winter to summer!

As a result of counting miles this month, I'm going to start keeping track of miles for every month. It would be nice to know how much I'm riding and then estimating a cost savings. Because, I'm planning on buying a new pair of boots come this fall and I want to be able to justify the purchase! It's always this for that in my mind!

I don't know if Paul's ever done the century loop of RAGBRAI, but he tried to do 200 miles in a day once. He made it to 190. I sometimes give him a hard time for those last 10 miles, but doing 190 is a pretty major accomplishment!

On a side note, I haven't been paying enough attention to instagram lately, so I had been reading your mile count wrong. Not that your daily miles aren't something to brag about, but I just kept thinking "Wow, 22 miles today. Way to go!" I just wanted to say way to go, no matter how far you ride!

Paul is officially my hero. I'm thinking about doing a 25-50 mile ride this summer and I'm a little nervous about that!

Yeah, daily miles are pretty low :). Hoping to increase them very soon!

Paul's my hero too! I made him sign up for the #everydayonabike team for the National Bike Challenge. He's going to carry the team!

Awesome! Glad to have him! Now, if I could just get my husband to sign up (and ride), we'll be kicking it!

P.S. Have you guys done RAGBRAI? I'd like to do it in the next few years...
